Summary: Had a wonderful stay at Quinta da Paz resort. The hotel is in the hills of the Itaipava area of Petropolis and while close to the center also feels like a nice retreat. Quinta da Paz is truly a resort, on a large beautiful piece of property with a gorgeous pool. There is even a small nature hike on the resort. The trip was truly a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of Rio de Janeiro. The restaurant serves delicious, fresh food and some of the ingredients are from their garden. The waiters were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Finally the hotel arranged private transportation for us to and from Rio de Janeiro. Renan who works at the hotel was our driver and he was extremely friendly and helpful, even guiding us through stops along the way for so we could see the sites of Petropolis. He really did a great job of making our trip to Petropolis special. Thank you to Renan and everyone at Quinta da Paz Resort!
